About Grande Law, P.A.

Grande Law is a boutique criminal defense and personal injury law firm with offices in Miami, FL and Steamboat Springs, CO. Founded by managing partners Stacy Marczak-Grande and Danny Grande, they bring over 40 years of combined legal experience across criminal defense, family law, personal injury, civil litigation, and property damage claims.

What separates Grande Law from larger firms is straightforward: when you call, Danny or Stacy picks up. Not an AI, not an assistant, not a paralegal. That 24/7 direct attorney access is not a marketing line — it is how the firm operates every day.

What Is a Civil Case?

A civil case is a legal dispute between two or more parties, whether individuals, businesses, or both, where one side asks the court to resolve a disagreement or award compensation for harm they suffered. Civil litigation covers everything from a contractor who never finished the job to a business partner who breached an agreement. Unlike criminal court, nobody goes to jail in a civil case. The goal is to make the wronged party whole again, usually through money damages, a court order, or both.

How Is a Civil Case Different from a Criminal Case?

In a criminal case, the government prosecutes someone accused of breaking the law, and the potential outcome includes fines or jail time. In a civil case, a private party (the plaintiff) sues another party (the defendant) to resolve a dispute or recover losses, and the standard of proof is lower: a preponderance of the evidence rather than beyond a reasonable doubt. That difference matters. It is why civil cases can move forward even when criminal charges were never filed, and why the right strategy for a civil claim looks nothing like a criminal defense.

Types of Civil Cases We Handle

From broken contracts to property disputes, we handle civil litigation matters across Northwest Colorado.

Contract Disputes

When someone doesn’t hold up their end of a deal, whether it’s a vendor, a client, or a business partner, we help you enforce the agreement or recover what you’re owed. As your breach of contract attorney, we review what was promised, what went wrong, and pursue the remedy that fits your situation.

Business & Commercial Disputes

Partnership disagreements, vendor conflicts, and disputes between companies can threaten day-to-day operations. As a business dispute lawyer for Steamboat Springs and Routt County companies, we work to resolve these conflicts quickly so you can get back to running your business.

Fraud & Misrepresentation

If someone lied to you, hid material facts, or misrepresented a deal to get your money or signature, we pursue the legal remedies available under Colorado law. As a civil fraud lawyer, we dig into the facts and build the case needed to hold them accountable.

Property Damage Claims

From storm damage to a neighbor’s negligence, we help property owners recover the cost of repairs and losses when someone else is responsible for the damage.

Landlord-Tenant Disputes

Whether you’re a landlord dealing with a lease violation or a tenant facing an unfair eviction, we represent both sides of Steamboat Springs rental disputes.

Real Estate & Property Disputes

Boundary disputes, easement conflicts, and disagreements over a real estate transaction all require an attorney who understands Colorado property law and how it applies here in Routt County.

Breach of Fiduciary Duty

When someone in a position of trust, a business partner, trustee, or officer, puts their own interests ahead of yours, we hold them accountable and help recover your losses.

Our Civil Litigation Process

Grande Law walks you through every stage, explains what to expect, and handles the heavy lifting so you can focus on what matters.

01

Free Case Consultation

Your first conversation with Grande Law costs nothing. We listen to what happened, ask the right questions, and give you an honest assessment of your legal position. If you have a viable civil claim, we tell you exactly what we can do for you and how we would approach it.

02

Case Investigation & Strategy

Before filing anything, we dig into the facts. We gather contracts, correspondence, financial records, property documents, and any other relevant evidence. This phase is where we build the foundation of your case and identify the strongest legal arguments in your favor.

03

Filing & Service

Once your case strategy is set, we prepare and file all court documents on your behalf. The complaint is drafted, filed with the appropriate court, and formally served on the opposing party. From this point forward, the other side has a legal obligation to respond.

04

Discovery & Negotiation

Discovery is the process by which both sides exchange information and evidence. Depositions, interrogatories, and document requests all happen here. Many civil disputes are resolved through negotiation or mediation during this phase, and we pursue every fair settlement opportunity before going to trial.

05

Trial or Resolution

If a fair settlement cannot be reached, we go to court. Grande Law is fully prepared to litigate your case before a judge or jury. We present your evidence, cross-examine witnesses, and argue your position with the skill that comes from decades of courtroom experience.

Grande Law walks you through every stage, explains what to expect, and handles the heavy lifting so you can focus on what matters.

What Our Clients Say

Rated 5 out of 5

“I want to echo everything James Danielo said. My case was also handled expertly. All of my questions (and I had a LOT) were answered in a manner that never made me feel stupid or like I was being an inconvenience. I was extremely nervous about the potential outcome and everything was explained in detail to calm my nerves. Grande Law thoroughly reviewed all the officer’s body cam videos and discovered irregularities/discrepancies that many attorneys may have glossed over. This attention to detail allowed me to keep my license and live a normal life. Thank you Grande Law!!!”

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about civil litigation in Steamboat Springs and how Grande Law can help.

Yes. Most civil claims in Colorado, including breach of contract, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty, must be filed within three years under Colorado’s general statute of limitations (C.R.S. Section 13-80-101). Some claims have shorter or longer windows depending on the type of case, so it’s worth talking to an attorney as soon as a dispute comes up rather than waiting.

It depends on the amount in dispute. Colorado county courts generally handle civil claims under $25,000, while district courts, including Routt County District Court in Steamboat Springs, hear civil cases of any amount. Depending on where the parties or property are located, venue can sometimes shift outside Routt County, and we’ll walk you through what applies to your case.

Most civil disputes settle before trial through negotiation or mediation. We pursue those options whenever they get you a fair outcome faster and at lower cost. If a fair resolution isn’t on the table, we’re fully prepared to take your case to trial.

We represent individuals and businesses in contract disputes, business and commercial litigation, fraud and misrepresentation claims, property damage claims, landlord-tenant disputes, real estate disputes, and breach of fiduciary duty cases. If you’re not sure your situation fits, call us and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can help.

Nothing. Your first conversation with Grande Law is a free consultation. We’ll listen to your situation and give you an honest read on your options before you spend a dollar.

For clients in Steamboat Springs, you’ll work directly with Stacy Marczak-Grande, the managing partner of our Steamboat Springs office. That’s not a marketing line, it’s how the firm is built: no assistant or AI standing between you and the person handling your case.
